My VIsion
My Vision
© Timothy J. Haines
I love high contrast images. I love black-and-white photography because sometimes when color is out of the way, you're left with the soul of the image that's in front of you. And the classic look of black-and-white photography really speaks to me.
I don't like capturing the predictable image. I see a lot of great landscape photography that hit me as a great image, but doesn't inspire me as a soulful picture. It's the difference between a formal Wedding portrait and a shot of the couple lost in each other's eyes.
The soul of the shot is very important to me! That's true whether I'm photographing people, an Art Deco facade, a cobblestone street in Brooklyn, or a child discovering his shadow for the first time.
